I would love to help you get things done! It comes naturally to me to figure out how to make things better and more efficient... and more fun, too!
Why work with me? Because I have a positive, go-get-em attitude and I get you. I've likely been in some version of the situation you find yourself in now.
Life can get very busy, very quickly, with a lot going on at the same time. Priorities get jumbled up and confusing, and then we freeze up and get nothing done since we're burned out. Sound familiar?
A little background for you. I am relatively highly educated (some could say that's good and bad) with a Bachelor's Degree and an MBA. Yes, I have some book smarts but was typically a proud B or C student since most of the time I was working at the same time as going through school (starting way back before High School).
I completed my MBA in a year and a half, in a full time program (evenings and weekends) while at the same time working a full time job on weekdays. To say I was a little burned out after that would be an understatement. But, it was a wonderful life lesson in how to juggle multiple schedules, demands, priorities, and teams at the same time. Great lessons learned and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
In my career, I ranged from working with start-ups right after earning my Bachelor's Degree to working in finance and accounting and systems integration (by accident, since they figured out I could speak business and technology) at a very large Fortune 500 company for a few years.
After earning my MBA, I was offered a job with Arthur Andersen which became Andersen Consulting and then went public and became Accenture. Yup, really big management consulting firm.
I loved the variety of clients I worked with from tiny start-ups (again), helping them hire employees and get their business processes up and running, to larger companies and huge corporations helping them find efficiencies in their bureaucratic processes and managing large systems implementations.
But my favorite clients were the ones I helped as a volunteer through Accenture's Corporate Citizenship efforts. I worked with several nonprofits to help them figure out ways to stretch their thin budgets even further by being a little more efficient in how they worked.
We ironed out processes to skip steps and remove things that weren't providing value. I provided that "fresh eyes" perspective to help them realize what was working really well (and not to mess with it) and what really needed some tweaking or a complete overhaul. I loved it!
So, I decided to self-impose an early-retirement to go out and help nonprofits on my own, hanging out my own (virtual) shingle with Streamline to Succeed.
Since those early days, I've not only been helping nonprofits with better managing their resources, and their time, and streamlining their processes and systems (yes, still on the technology kick as well). I also started helping individuals, small business owners and students.
So, now that you have a bit of my story, here's the stuffier stuff to get that out of the way:
With nearly 30 years of experience helping people and organizations, I focus on several areas including:
I've worked with small businesses to non-profits to corporations and consulting firms, including nearly 20 years at Accenture. I currently specialize in helping:
As a professional member of the National Association of Productivity & Organizing Professionals (NAPO), I am proud to adhere to NAPO's comprehensive code of ethics. This includes strict confidentiality and treating clients and colleagues with integrity and respect.
I am dedicated to keeping my skills fresh and relevant, having earned several NAPO Specialist certificates:
Now, if you've read this far you get to learn something a little more fun since we're past all the obligatory stuff.
Well, I am not only about productivity and time management. I'm also about letting out my creative side and enjoying life as an artist and a writer. I participated in my first fine art show in 2022 (check mark on that bucket list for sure)!
I'm excited to announce that I also published my first book called Explore Your Life (with a few others in the hopper behind it) and started interactive workshops to help individuals explore their lives and capture their legacies. My training in helping others write memoirs really helps, too!
I also expanded my business into life coaching through my new company, Ever Better Living! Surf on over there to learn more.
Lastly, I'm a bit of a walker and a hiker. I recently completed a quest to walk 5 miles in each of the 50 states before I turned 50. (Yes, that is the topic of one of the books that I've already drafted!)
I share this with you so you know that I don't just talk about goals and hoping to get them done. I follow what I recommend to my clients. I set goals and go about taking the smaller steps to reach them. I keep time available in life to invest in what's really important - time with family and friends, helping others, and staying healthy, active and vibrant.
It's not just about being efficient in getting your work done or your studies completed. It's all about investing your time wisely in the people, activities, and things that are important to you. Only you know what those are. I help you articulate those things and we work together so you can invest your time wisely in them.
Interested in learning more about what it could be like to work together? Have any questions?
It's easy to reach out. Contact me and I will personally get back to you usually within 24 hours!
I look forward to the opportunity to help you invest your time wisely!
